Airtime enables us to keep in touch with our loved ones, make important calls for different reasons and lots more. With airtime, you can subscribe to different services provided by your network provider such as Etisalat, MTN, etc.

More often than not, you tend to buy our recharge cards or simply use other methods to top-up our airtime. But, there are times when you will want to either transfer airtime to others who for one reason or the other are in need of it or simply to transfer to yourself if you use more than one sim from the same network provider. N.B: Transferring both airtime and data on Etisalat has to be from one Etisalat line to another Etisalat user. You can’t transfer Etisalat airtime or data to a different network like MTN and GLO. So have this in mind.

How to transfer airtime on Etisalat?

Transferring airtime from an Etisalat line is as simple as performing a sequence of actions and following the instructions.

The first step will be to check your account balance. This is important to prevent you from trying to transfer an amount above what you currently have. If you don’t know how to check your account balance on Etisalat, it is simply by dialing *232# from your Etisalat line.

Now you know your account balance, and you have decided how much you want to transfer. The next step is to get your PIN ready. Your PIN is a security number that helps to prevent unauthorized persons from transferring your airtime. The default PIN from network providers is usually 0000 but you can change it. To change the default PIN, simply dial *247*0000*New PIN#.

You can also use this method to change to a new PIN, to do that, dial *247*Old PIN*New PIN#. If you forget your PIN, you may have to call Etisalat customer service to reset it.

N.B: You don’t have to set your PIN every time you want to make transfer. You can do this just once and change it if you feel the need to change it again.

Now that you have your PIN ready, it is a straight forward process from here. Before I forget, please remember to have the recipient number written out. Okay, we are now set, everything is ready.

To transfer airtime from an Etisalat line to another Etisalat line, simply dial *223*PIN*Amount *Recipient Number#.

After dialing this code, you will get a message that requires you to confirm the transaction. Press one to confirm and 2 if you want to cancel it.

How to transfer data on Etisalat?

Knowing how to transfer data could easily be a life saver. Thanks to Etisalat, you can now transfer data to your loved ones. By simply knowing the shortcode to use, have the minimum data required, and have the recipient number, you can now transfer mobile data easily.

To be able to transfer data on Etisalat, you must have a minimum of 100MB of data available on your phone. The minimum data you can transfer at a time is 10MB, while the maximum data you can transfer is 50MB. Remember this service has to be from one Etisalat line to another. It also applies to all Etisalat tariff, meaning you don’t migrate to a different tariff to be able to perform this action.

Just like transferring airtime, the first step here is to check your data balance. This is to ensure you have at least 100MB of data available on your SIM. To check your data balance on Etisalat, simply dial *228# from your Etisalat line.

Now you have checked your data and you are ready to perform your transaction.

To transfer data from Etisalat line, dial *229*Recipient Number*Amount of MB# or dial *229*Recipient Number*Amount of MB*PIN#

For example, if I want to transfer 50MB to a friend on Etisalat, I will dial *229*080912346789*50# and press OK.

Remember that your default PIN is 0000. So to send 200MB, you have to repeat this process 4 times.
